The Perrin Technique Treatment
The Perrin technique is a Specialised doctoral research-based Osteopathic approach, being used clinically since 1989, and now practiced internationally. Which has recently undergone an in-house NHS trial for its effective diagnostic assistance.
Michael Parr the consulting osteopath of Osteopathy At Home is the registered practitioner of the Perrin Technique for the Cambridge and Stevenage zones, he has assisted in the training of the approach to fellow osteopaths, and was also the Official Locum for the Perrin Clinic.
The treatment aims at manually stimulating and assisting drainage systems, by gentle joint articulation, stretching and relaxation of the surrounding muscles, together with the treatment to the lymphatics. These can all be assisted with osteopathic approaches, and the treatment to the cranio-sacral rhythm, are extremely useful in the overall treatment approach.
For more information on this approach, please look at the official Perrin Technique website (www.theperrinclinic.com).
If there are any other questions, or, you wish to book a consultation Michael Parr the consulting osteopath in Stevenage or Hitchin, based at Osteopathy At Home. Please don’t hesitate to call or email.
Perrin Technique Consultation Procedure
Initial Assessment for The Perrin Technique; for new patients, or patients of who have had other therapy approaches at Osteopathy At Home.
You are asked to complete a consultation form with your full detailed past history, and a specific diagnostic questionnaire.
Then, during the one hour first appointment, a more specific and detailed case history is taken, and any prior investigations discussed, so these can be taken into consideration.
Next, if clinically appropriate, you may be asked to dress down to allow us to look at the presenting problems, and perform the required diagnostic assessments (please ensure you are fully aware of what this entails, and have had this explained to you when booking the initial consultation, and before attending an appointment).
You will then be asked to perform simple motions to help us gain information and understand your posture and interpret this in regards to your presenting complaint.
Then, a detailed passive examination, along with some specific investigations will be performed. A diagnosis will then be discussed, and if appropriate at this point, treatment will begin.
During this process and any subsequent treatments, it is recommended that another adult individual is present at the premises, to act as a supportive chaperone, if required.
The Initial Consultation will last 60 minutes, and all follow up appointments for treatment with the Perrin Technique will last 30 minutes.
